Consider this your official call-to-'stache, a rallying cry for those dormant whiskers and that sense of charity and righteousness within us all!
GENTS: Come Grow With Us! We are in search of as many fun-loving, 'stach growing, kid helping "growers" as possible! Check out the basics in the 'RULES' and 'REGISTER' sections to throw your hat (and upper lip) into the ring!
ENTHUSIASTS: Send us an email to join our mailing list! If you can't Grow With Us due to preference, lack of Y chromosome, or significant other who dislikes helping kids in need, we'd still love to have you! Remember, "The Mustache is more in the heart than on the face." As a 'stache enthusiast, we need you to get out the word, support our growers in their brave endeavor, and help us raise as much money as we can for the kids!
In our second year, Mustaches for Kids Baltimore embarks on a hairy task - to improve on last year's amazing inaugural Growing Season! In 2008, 40 brave Growers sported sweet, sweet mustaches for 4 short weeks and raised $23,500 for local public schools classrooms, positively impacting the educational experience of almost 14,000 students! The Baltimore chapter was so proud to have in our ranks to have the country's top mustachioed fundraiser, Dr. Andres Alonso! INCREDIBLE!
This year we are proud to again support DonorsChoose.org as our benefactor. DonorsChoose.org is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit that allows donors to individually choose and directly fund teacher-submitted educational projects, improving the public school experience for students in Baltimore City and around the country.
This year's growing season will officially start on Shaving Day, Tuesday, November 17th. And after a full month of folical follies, we will host our annual 'Stache Bash where we will celebrate the 'Staches we have grown and the local children we have helped.
