Oh Dog

We decided to start looking for a dog last year, we decided on an American Bulldog. We contacted a breeder, sent a down payment, the female had a false pregnancy, no puppies, we got our money back & started researching other breeders. We found one promising breeder; Bully Rascalz American Bulldogs & contacted them about future breedings. One future breeding that caught our eye was Champion Akilah... they would start breeding in January! Great! We'll put our name on the list & wait....

Well... this morning when I woke, I saw my hubs had the American Bulldog Rescue website up. My natural instinct was to take a looksy at the rescues they had available, just a looksy, I swear! Fat chance!

One thing lead to another & 6hrs later we have a 9 month, Bully mix laying at my feet & snoring like a mad man! He seems like a great dog, thus far: house broken, sweet, lazy, loves car rides, doesn't chew, rarely barks, didn't freak when the pizza guy came, great right!

Some things we have to work on: basic commands, sit, lay, come, stay... you know the drill. We'll have to work on walking on the leash but he's not too bad. The only MAJOR ordeal, so far, is introducing him to the cats! He's not too bad till they hiss, then he pounces!

We're still going to get that pure breed American Bulldog, hopefully come April-May but now the puppy will be able to learn good manners from his older brother!!
