Doggie Stylin'!

WE DID IT!! We bought a new puppy!!
After much consideration, searching the Internet, researching breeds, size, health problems, temperament (especially with children), life expectancy & energy level we set our sites on the American Bulldog! This dog has all the attributes that Chris & I are looking for in our family dog!
Once we decided on a breed, it was now time to start looking into breeders. Now before I fill you in on our breeder of choice I feel a little history lesson is in order...
There are a few things in my 32yrs of life that I have never paid for... a vehicle & a pet. Luckily, when someone in my familia got a new car I got their old one, never had a car payment, SWEET! As far as animals went we naturally chose to help the local pound puppy. Then about 12yrs ago when Chris & I moved to NY, I began working as a veterinary assistant & in came my 1st experience with a pure bred, The Rottweiler, his name, Jethro! His then owner brought him in because he had a bad case of puppy worms & never returned. He could not have been older than 8 weeks & that started my life as a Rotti owner & he was FREE! Ro had a Grand Life but I had to put him down 2yrs ago, saddest day ever but quality of life was much more important so we let him go!! R.I.P Jethro!!
So 2yrs after I put Jethro to rest the time is right for a new puppy!!! I'm so excited to announce that after much research on breeders we chose Eleven Peaks American Bulldogs! We have put down our payment so that we can get 1st choice female or 2ND choice male!! We are going to have to wait till we're looking the dogs in the eyes to decide who we want to take home with us!! Our Cats are going to kill us for making them puppy pillows but they'll get over it, they always do!! My favorite part of this whole deal... we have to travel to "Canada" to get an "American" Bulldog!! Ironic, eh!! We don't mind, gives us an excuse to do a little traveling & visit Niagara Falls on our way North! Oh, BTW, Eleven Peaks American Bulldog puppies haven't even been concieved yet!! Projected PPD (Puppy Pick-up Date): July 2009!!
So Chris has go me paying for animals, what's next, a car payment!! ;0

Congratulations on your new family pet. I can't wait to see pics. Did you pick out a name yet?

I'm thinking about getting Ole a turtle. He had one (Pokemon) but his cousin's aunt took it out of the tank for a little and then they never found it :(
Ole was devastated.
